Swiss energy storage developer MW Storage is building a 100 MW/200 MWh BESS in Arzberg, Bavaria, which is set to come online next month.

The developer has chosen Munich-based algorithm trader Entrix to commercialize the services of half of the project’s capacity on various energy markets.

Entrix’s artificial intelligence and algorithm-powered marketing will ensure the site’s services can be traded on primary and secondary control power markets and day-ahead and intraday wholesale exchanges.

MW Storage established a fund in 2022 to finance European energy storage and the Arzberg site, in Upper Franconia, is the first to take shape, with asset manager Reichmuth Infrastructure as majority shareholder and electricity distribution network operator Bayernwerk and grid company Zukunftsenergie Nordostbayern GmbH also backers.
