Italian battery energy storage system (BESS) maker Eiko Power is launching a technology joint venture with Chinese inverter manufacturer Guangzhou Sanjing Electric Co (SAJ).

“This partnership aims to develop solutions for the commercial and industrial sector, with initial models of 99.9 kW PCS [power conversion system] plus 261 kWh [of energy storage capacity], and 125 kW PCS plus 261 kWh, designed to meet the needs of the European market,” wrote Eiko Power, adding the collaboration involves a transfer of production technology to Europe.

SAJ will provide technical support and knowhow through its research centers in China and Eiko will manage integration, manufacturing in Europe, marketing, and after-sales support.

“The first prototype will be ready for market testing by summer 2025, with mass production following immediately,” said Eiko.

The Italian company said it is opening a 5,000 m2 facility in the Milan area.

The agreement between Eiko and SAJ will be signed tomorrow during the Intersolar Europe trade show, which opens today in Munich.

The collaboration between the two companies is part of a broader trend of partnerships between Italian and Chinese companies.
