Tesvolt battery storage to benefit from “Made in Europe” funding bonus in Austria

Tesvolt unveiled its new Tesvolt Taytan storage solution last week at The smarter E Europe event in Munich. This battery storage system allows users to stack three to ten modules to achieve their desired storage capacity. Each module provides 6.25 kWH, making the product suitable for both residential and commercial photovoltaic setups.
According to Tesvolt, up to four battery storage units can run in parallel through a single inverter. Production of the new series is scheduled to start later this year.
The battery modules are manufactured at Tesvolt’s new Gigafactory at its headquarters in Wittenberg. As a result, Austrian system operators can apply for the ten percent “Made in Europe” funding bonus. This initiative is slated to launch with the second funding round in June [link to German site].
Simon Schandert, CTO and co-founder of Tesvolt, explained, “Although our new storage system is produced in Germany, it competes on price with comparable Chinese systems. We can do this because we’re able to produce in high volumes at our new Gigafactory in Wittenberg and have developed sophisticated manufacturing processes.”
The manufacturer backs the product with a twelve-year performance guarantee. Tesvolt also states the battery system is designed for compatibility with a range of inverters. Additionally, embedded Infineon chips provide robust protection against cyberattacks.
A key advantage of the new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) system is that it operates without requiring active cooling. The battery modules transfer heat to the metal casing, allowing ambient temperature to provide cooling. No active heating system is needed either. The storage system is outdoor-rated and can operate in temperatures from -20 to 50 degrees Celsius.
