A new production line for battery storage systems is being built in eastern Czechia. Several partners from Germany and the Czech Republic have joined forces for the project. According to their own statements, the driving motivation is cybersecurity. They aim to equip their batteries with in-house control systems to better protect them against attacks. This could help counter concerns about the high degree of Chinese integration in Europe’s energy infrastructure.
