Trex Energy launches 125 kW/261 kWh liquid-cooled BESS for C&I applications
Hyderabad-based Trex Energy has launched REX, a 125 kW/261 kWh fully integrated, single-cabinet battery energy storage system (BESS) for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. The system combines liquid cooling, an energy management system (EMS), and integrated AC/DC architecture. It measures less than 1,700 mm × 1,350 mm × 2,200 mm and weighs less than 3,500 kg.
The BESS features a 261 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a nominal voltage of 832 V and a cell capacity of 314 Ah. It has a maximum DC voltage of 950 V and a maximum input active power of 125 kW. The system is designed for both on-grid and off-grid applications and can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -20 C to 55 C. It carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water ingress.
“With liquid cooling, aerosol fire suppression, and intelligent cloud monitoring built into a single cabinet, we are giving our customers a system they can trust for decades of reliable operation,” said Roshan Shaik, technical director at Trex Energy.
The company said liquid cooling maintains optimal cell temperatures across operating conditions, reducing degradation and extending battery life compared to conventional air-cooled systems.
Trex Energy said the BESS platform supports future capacity expansion through optional 100 kW maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and 200 kW static transfer switch (STS) modules.
The system is equipped with aerosol fire suppression and protection against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuits, and thermal events.
An integrated EMS with 4G connectivity and a 7-inch HMI touchscreen enables real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, and cloud-based maintenance. The system is compatible with PV input, AC bus, grid, loads, and EV charging infrastructure.
