Sungrow signs 1.32 GWh storage framework deal with Nuveen in Europe

Sungrow has signed a 1.32 GWh framework agreement with Nuveen Infrastructure covering projects from the investor’s European renewable energy portfolio, including developments by portfolio company Verdian in Spain and Italy.

Chinese inverter and storage manufacturer Sungrow and global infrastructure investor Nuveen Infrastructure say their new 1.32 GWh framework agreement covers projects from Nuveen’s European renewable energy portfolio, with Sungrow supplying 302 units of its liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 battery energy storage systems (BESS) and 77 medium-voltage systems.

The agreement includes a long-term service agreement that the companies say provides a guaranteed 98% system availability, extended component warranties, annual preventive maintenance, and round-the-clock technical support.

Jordi Francesch, global head of asset management at Nuveen Infrastructure Clean Energy, said the agreement equips the company’s portfolio companies with what it describes as Tier 1 storage technology and active management tools, adapting its European assets to operate in a more flexible, data-driven energy system.

Javier Izcue, vice president of Sungrow Europe and head of southern Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland, said the agreement represents an important step toward accelerating storage deployment in Europe, and that Sungrow aims to support the energy transition in key markets including Spain and Italy.

Sungrow has been expanding its PowerTitan 2.0 footprint across Europe in recent months, including a 2.4 GWh deal with Sunotec spanning Bulgaria and broader European markets announced in July 2025.
