FlexGen launches European operations for battery storage software

FlexGen said it has secured projects in the United Kingdom, Finland, and Sweden, and is bringing its energy management system, including power plant controls, analytic s, and site-level supervisory control and data acquisition, to European customers.

FlexGen Managing Director for Europe Mike Wallace said the company’s software and services are intended to address local grid challenges and support energy independence, reliability, and affordability as European demand from electrification rises.

FlexGen said its HybridOS energy management software is hardware-agnostic and integrates with any battery manufacturer’s equipment, offering analytics intended to help asset owners deploy different power market strategies.

The company said the software can deliver 99% availability at the site level when combined with its lifecycle services and remote monitoring, though it did not specify whether that figure reflects a contracted service level or observed performance.

The company employs staff across the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, and Poland, and said it is preparing to add Germany. Separately, FlexGen said it is progressing through UL testing and VDE Prototype Certification to support its offering in markets including Germany.

FlexGen said it serves more than 25 GWh across more than 200 energy storage systems in more than 10 countries globally.
