Sungrow launches PowerHarbor residential storage system

Sungrow unveiled PowerHarbor, an all-in-one residential energy storage system (ESS), this week at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, Germany. The system offers power ratings from 10 kW to 30 kW and battery modules from 6 kWh to 10 kWh, with total storage expandable up to 120 kWh, the company said.

Each battery module is built on 314 Ah large-format cells, and the modular architecture allows homeowners to mix module sizes and add capacity without replacing existing units, according to Sungrow. The system supports up to 1.6 times standard PV-to-battery charging and operates across a temperature range of -20 C to 50 C, according to the company.

PowerHarbor is paired with EnergyBridge, a companion backup unit that integrates a changeover switch, circuit breaker, meter, bypass switch, and current transformer into a single device. Sungrow said the unit is up to 99% smaller by volume than a conventional backup gateway and can reduce installation time by up to one hour.

The 10 kWh module size distinguishes PowerHarbor from some competing stackable residential systems. FoxESS’s EQ4800 module, by comparison, offers 4.66 kWh per unit, with up to nine units stackable for a maximum of roughly 42 kWh.

PowerHarbor early access is open, with the system on display at Sungrow’s booth, B3.310, through the close of Intersolar Europe 2026.
