AmpereHour Energy opens 5 GWh BESS factory in India
AmpereHour Energy has inaugurated a BESS manufacturing and integration facility in Pune, India, with a planned annual manufacturing capacity of 5 GWh.
The company said the facility marks its evolution from a BESS technology integrator to a manufacturer combining containerized battery DC-AC block integration, proprietary software and digital quality validation to deliver safer, smarter energy storage systems.
The new facility will manufacture and integrate cabinet and containerized battery DC-AC blocks for utility-scale projects, as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage applications.
AmpereHour Energy said that while battery manufacturing has traditionally focused on hardware assembly, its new facility integrates software intelligence, engineering expertise and factory-level digital validation into every system before deployment.
Its AH-Suite digital factory acceptance testing (FAT) and quality management platform enables system traceability, performance validation and faster commissioning from factory to field. It added that the platform, combined with its ELINA energy management system (EMS), is designed to improve operational visibility, safety, grid performance and long-term asset reliability.
“Our expansion into advanced BESS manufacturing is built on years of experience as system integrators – understanding what makes storage assets safer, smarter and more reliable in real operating environments,” said Rahul Shelke, managing director of AmpereHour Energy.
CEO Ayush Misra said manufacturing was a logical next step in the company’s development as a BESS technology integrator. He said energy storage requires engineering systems that deliver reliable performance throughout their operating life, adding that the company’s AH-Suite platform applies lessons from field deployments by digitally validating each system before it is shipped to customers.
