Waaree ESS, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has commenced production at its battery energy storage system (BESS) container manufacturing facility in Rola, Gujarat, marking the first milestone in its 20 GWh manufacturing roadmap.

“The commencement of our advanced BESS container manufacturing facility is an important step toward building a fully integrated energy storage ecosystem,” said Sunil Rathi, executive director of Waaree Group.

The company has started manufacturing BESS containers at the facility and plans to operationalize lithium battery cell and battery pack production later in the current financial year. The site will have manufacturing capacities of 3.5 GWh for lithium cells and 5.15 GWh for battery packs.

Waaree ESS said its BESS container facility is equipped with advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), intelligent material handling, automated assembly lines, and advanced testing and quality assurance systems. The facility will deliver scalable energy storage solutions designed for utility-scale and commercial & industrial applications.
