Solmeria launches marketplace for solar, storage project sales
Solmeria Marketplace, launched in early July, lists 24 solar and battery storage projects totaling 200 MWp, spanning ground-mounted solar, agrivoltaics, commercial and industrial (C&I) solar, and BESS developments at every stage from greenfield to ready-to-build status.
Solmeria, formerly known as Ferme Solaire, has worked as a broker for PV developers in France. The company said the existing project resale market functions poorly, with sales typically bundled into portfolios that carry high commissions and slow-moving transactions. Solmeria charges commission only on successful sales, at a lower rate than typical mergers and acquisitions brokerages, the company said.
The Paris-based company expects several hundred additional MWp to be listed by the end of 2026, with a significant share coming from international markets.
Solmeria said 28 new developers have registered on the platform since launch, joining 80 existing partners already in its portfolio, which the company said demonstrates real demand for buying and selling solar projects individually.
Developers know how to sell a project but lose considerable time finding the right buyer, often bundling assets into portfolios to their detriment, said Solmeria CEO Maxime Curtaigne.
Curtaigne noted that the company wants to reverse that dynamic by making each project individually sellable and matched with the buyer who will assign it real value, adding that Solmeria aims to become the infrastructure underpinning this new liquidity in the European solar market.
