Canadian battery manufacturer Electrovaya, listed on Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange as ELVA, has released ElvaPulse 1500, a stationary battery energy storage system (BESS) aimed at data centers and other critical infrastructure applications.

The system is housed in a 20-foot modular container using 1500 VDC architecture, with up to 2.88 MWh of nominal energy and up to 7 MW of continuous power output.

Electrovaya said the platform is intended to complement generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and broader grid modernization efforts as data center operators face growing power demand from AI infrastructure.

Data centers typically rely on UPS batteries for instantaneous ride-through power and generators for extended backup; battery storage systems like ElvaPulse are increasingly being positioned for peak shaving and shorter-duration resilience support alongside those systems.

The company said the platform is being developed to support projects seeking eligibility for the U.S. 48E investment tax credit.

Initial deliveries are targeted for the second quarter of 2027 from Electrovaya’s manufacturing facility in Jamestown, New York, where the company has said site upgrades and construction are underway. Electrovaya will showcase ElvaPulse 1500 at three industry events this year: ACP RECHARGE, Yotta 2026, and RE+ 2026.

Separately, Electrovaya has a commercial supply agreement with Amazon covering its Infinity battery line for material handling operations, unrelated to the ElvaPulse product line.
