Risen Energy signs Ukraine solar-plus-storage MoUs covering 200 MWh

Risen Energy has signed two memorandums of understanding agreements with Ukrainian energy company Ascania Energy covering cooperation on up to 100 MW of solar capacity and 200 MWh of utility-scale battery storage in Ukraine.

Under the partnership, Risen Energy said it will provide the PV modules on the solar front, along with utility-scale energy storage systems and technical support. Risen currently offers its eTron series of liquid-cooled energy storage systems for utility-scale applications. The package includes liquid-cooling thermal management, multilayer safety protection, intelligent control and operational management.

Ascania Energy, part of Ascania Group, a Ukrainian holding company that covers many industrial needs, will be the EPC, and lead local project development, engineering, implementation, system integration and service, regulatory requirements and specific customer needs.

Risen Energy has prior Ukraine exposure, having supplied modules to 12 solar projects including the 323 MW Pokrovskaya Solar Power Plant. As of Q2 2026, its cumulative BESS deliveries exceeded 10 GWh globally.

The MoUs establish a cooperation framework. No financial terms or project timelines have been disclosed. Risen said on August 13 that an Ascania Energy delegation visited Risen Energy’s manufacturing facility at SYL Battery in Ningbo, China, to review energy storage production, testing, and quality management capabilities, as well as PV production facilities.
