Sodium nickel chloride battery factory proposed for New Mexico
North America’s Desert Mountain Energy Corporation has signed a non-binding letter of intent to form a joint venture to build and operate a sodium-nickel-chloride (SNC) battery manufacturing plant in Roswell, New Mexico. As per the proposal, the facility would use produced water from oil and gas wells as part of a cooling and processing system intended to support battery production as well as a data center complex.

Venture capital firm Molten Ventures leads investment in global battery energy storage benchmarking business Modo Energy. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2019, Modo Energy has expanded to cover continental European markets, Australia and the United States.
