Colombia drafts rules for 5 MW+ batteries Colombia's Energy and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG) has published a draft resolution establishing technical, commercial, and tariff conditions for battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a minimum capacity of 5 MW. The rules would also set a project guarantee requirement of developers equivalent to 20% of a project's estimated value, as calculated by the Mining-Energy Planning Unit (UPME).
