Assets on the move: Monsson buys second Swedish battery project, R.Power puts for sale sign up in Poland on solar plus storage
Romanian energy company Monsson has acquired its second Swedish battery project in three months, a 20 MWh facility in Härryda, from developer Fu-Gen.
Fu-Gen said it delivered the ready-to-build energy storage project to Monsson Energy, and Monsson will serve as the EPC, owner, and operator for the project, which uses two 10 MWh battery units in a cold-weather warehouse design. Construction is slated for fall 2025.
The move is part of the company’s plan to install over 200 MWh of storage capacity in Sweden.
“Our investment in Härryda reinforces Monsson’s commitment to building a robust portfolio of flexible storage assets across Sweden,” said Sebastian Enache, Head of M&A.
With ongoing initiatives in Germany, Finland, Italy, and Croatia, Monsson is targeting more than 1 GWh of energy storage across Europe, over 200 MWh of which is planned for Sweden.
R.Power
In Poland, R.Power has announced the sale of a 440 MW portfolio of solar and storage projects. The assets integrate solar PV plants with battery energy storage systems (BESS) to increase energy output and add flexibility to the grid.
The portfolio, in development, is for sale and the projects use PV modules and storage technology to provide energy dispatch, a reduction in curtailment, and reliability.
A representative for R.Power told ESS News that “the assets are expected to commence commercial operation between 2027 and 2029, depending on the project,” with assets listed below as sent:
- PV1 is a 178 MWp hybrid project located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, consisting of PV with collocated BESS and wind potential
- PV2 is a 48 MWp hybrid project located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, consisting of PV with co-located BESS
- PV3 is a 38 MWp hybrid project located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, consisting of PV with collocated BESS and wind potential
- PV4 is 176 MWp hybrid project located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, consisting of PV with collocated BESS
