JDEnergy Commissions Sichuan’s Landmark 100MW/200MWh Energy Storage Station with Full Digital-Intelligent Operations
Located in Mengyang Subdistrict, Pengzhou City, this project occupies approximately 4.6 arces and features an installed capacity of 100MW/200MWh. It adopts JDEnergy’s distributed smart energy storage solution, consisting of 20 independent energy storage units and a total of 479 eBlock-418. Each unit is equipped with a 5,500kVA 35kV transformer, achieving local voltage step-up within the unit. A new 110 kV booster station has been built in parallel, fitted with a 100 MVA main transformer and connected to the 220 kV Yongdingqiao Substation via a 110 kV transmission line—creating a high-efficiency, stable, and robust power transmission network.
The project’s defining feature lies in its digital intelligence integration. JDEnergy has implemented an advanced intelligent monitoring and safety pre-warning system for the project, elevating the station’s operations to a new level of digitalization and intelligence. The system integrates digital twin, edge computing, IoT, big data, and AI technologies to enable comprehensive, data-driven operations.
The digital twin platform provides real-time monitoring and rapid fault identification, while AI-based video analytics support dynamic risk management and predictive maintenance. Drone-assisted inspections and intelligent IV diagnostics enhance operational efficiency and ensure battery cluster-level safety monitoring. A built-in alarm knowledge base further streamlines troubleshooting, achieving standardized, automated, and professional O&M management. This multi-layered digital safety architecture transforms conventional station operations into a fully intelligent, 24/7 safeguarded system, ensuring long-term reliability and stability.
Upon commissioning, the station will deliver around 58 million kWh of clean electricity annually, meeting the yearly demand of approximately 28,000 households. It is expected to save 18,000 tons of standard coal and reduce 56,000 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to planting 320,000 trees. During summer peak demand, the project provides rapid-response capability, helping to stabilize Sichuan’s grid and facilitate renewable energy integration.
Serving as a flexible hub for grid regulation, the station effectively mitigates the intermittency of renewable generation, enhances power system resilience, and advances Sichuan’s carbon-neutrality goals. Beyond its operational impact, it also aims to become a clean energy education and innovation base, fostering collaboration across industry, academia and research to accelerate the development of advanced energy storage technologies.
The commissioning of the Pengzhou Yongdingqiao Energy Storage Power Station marks a significant milestone in Sichuan’s journey toward a resilient, intelligent, and low-carbon energy future.
JDEnergy will continue to leverage technological innovation to drive the evolution of energy storage—from pilot demonstrations to large-scale deployments—empowering the construction of next-generation power systems worldwide.
