“It’s a miracle we have any storage projects in Germany at all” Interview: Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) recently published an FAQ on grid connections for large-scale battery storage. It says that big battery systems require two separate procedures — one for charging (grid draw) and one for discharging (grid feed-in). Attorney Britta Wißmann from Watson Farley & Williams explains what this means for ongoing projects and existing grid connection approvals.
