China’s Three Gorges renewables site to include 5 GWh of energy storage
State-owned Three Gorges Energy has revealed plans for a 16.5 GW renewables project in the Taklamakan Desert. The site will comprise 5 GWh of electrochemical energy storage capacity plus 8.5 GW of solar, 4 GW of wind, and 3.96 GW of coal-fired power.

Swedish greentech specialist Flower wants to expand in Europe
The company has raised more than €45 million ($48.8 million) to build large-scale energy storage facilities with AI-supported optimization platforms in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other European countries. The planned projects also include a 10 MW battery park in Saarland.

Commercial operation for Chile’s 134 MWh El Manzano battery
Authorization has been granted by the National Electric Coordinator to project developer Enel Chile. El Manzano is the Enel's first battery storage system in the Metropolitan region. It is part of a project that includes a 99.4 MW solar plant.

The Munich-based contractor wants to broaden its position and become a holistic flexibility provider in the energy market. Kyon Energy says it has 1 GW of approved and ready-to-build projects and more than 7 GW in the pipeline.
