The EUR 300 million ($324 million) loan will finance the construction and commissioning of the Salto de Chira reversible pumped storage hydroelectric power plant that Red Eléctrica, a subsidiary of Redeia, is building in Gran Canaria.

LG Energy Solution announces substantial ESS revenue growth, new products
The South Korean battery maker expects strong demand momentum in the energy storage space (ESS) and plans to release a new high capacity lithium iron phosphate product with an energy density improved by 20%, alongside other products. To advance its local supply capabilities, the company plans to start ESS battery production in the US next year, and is considering converting European electric vehicle (EV) production lines to ESS.
CALB sues CATL over patent infringement in escalating battery rivalry
Until now, CALB had been the defendant in multiple patent infringement cases initiated by CATL, but this time, CALB is the plaintiff. The damage CALB is seeking is significantly higher than the total RMB 700 million (€91 million) CATL previously claimed in six patent infringement cases against CALB.
