Funding for European energy storage startups reaches €2.14 billion
European energy storage hardware startups have raised over €2.14 billion in total equity funding, covering commercial, industrial, and grid-scale applications. According to new research from Avnet Silica, 46.7% of that funding was secured in the past three years, while 84.4% has been raised in the last five, highlighting a rapid acceleration in investment across the sector.

Sodium nickel chloride battery factory proposed for New Mexico
North America’s Desert Mountain Energy Corporation has signed a non-binding letter of intent to form a joint venture to build and operate a sodium-nickel-chloride (SNC) battery manufacturing plant in Roswell, New Mexico. As per the proposal, the facility would use produced water from oil and gas wells as part of a cooling and processing system intended to support battery production as well as a data center complex.

ADB invests in 396 MWh of storage in Thailand, Sri Lanka’s first grid-scale battery
