Long-duration storage as an antidote to grid congestion, renewables curtailment

First batteries arrive for Colbún’s 912 MWh storage project in Chile
Chilean energy company Colbún is developing the project with a capacity of 228 MW and 912 MWh of storage. It will be associated with the 232 MW Diego de Almagro Sur photovoltaic park, which has been operational since 2022 in the Atacama region.
Swedish–French partnership aims for 200 MW of battery projects in France
Swedish company Ingrid Capacity and French developer Wattmen have entered into a co-development agreement to deploy 200 MW of battery energy storage systems in France. The first projects are expected to be ready for construction by 2026-2027.
