Germany to remove large battery storage systems from grid connection ordinance
Following a surge in battery storage applications, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is planning to remove storage systems from a rulebook overseeing the grid connection of power plants larger than 100 MW. The move has been criticized by the German Renewable Energy Federation.

The recently established National Energy System Operator's (NESO) 'Clean Power 2030' advice to the UK government considers how to decarbonize electricity by 2030. NESO has proposed 23 GW to 27 GW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and more long-duration energy storage (LDES).

China’s Three Gorges renewables site to include 5 GWh of energy storage
State-owned Three Gorges Energy has revealed plans for a 16.5 GW renewables project in the Taklamakan Desert. The site will comprise 5 GWh of electrochemical energy storage capacity plus 8.5 GW of solar, 4 GW of wind, and 3.96 GW of coal-fired power.

Swedish greentech specialist Flower wants to expand in Europe
