The Spanish developer has acquired 260 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in its homeland, agreed to buy 1.4 GW/5.6 GWh of BESS from an unnamed supplier, and secured a 10-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA) from Trafigura.

Madrid-based renewables developer Solaria has announced the acquisition of 260 MWh of BESS in Spain, for around €20 million ($22.6 million). The company did not announce a location or vendor of the project capacity and did not state whether it concerned one or more sites.

Solaria also announced it had signed an agreement to buy 1.4 GW/5.6 GWh of BESS, from a Tier 1 battery supplier, to add to some of its Spanish solar parks.

The company, which claims to have a 2.8 GW BESS development pipeline in Spain and Italy, also said it had secured a 10-year PPA from Singaporean oil and gas company Trafigura, which will take a total 1 TWh of clean power from a 50 MWp field at the 626 MW solar plant at the Cifuentes-Trillo complex, in Guadalajara, Castilla–La Mancha.
