Anker Solix’s C1000 Gen 2 portable power station, with 1024 Wh capacity and 2000 W AC output, has opened a new battlefront in fast charging, as it positions itself as the fastest on the market in its class via the company’s HyperFlash technology.

The C1000 Gen 2 achieves 100% charge in 49 minutes when connected to a wall outlet, though it can take 600 W of solar input as well. The catch is that owners are required to enable ‘UltraFast Charge Mode’ through the mobile app. This represents a nine-minute improvement over the original C1000’s 58-minute charging time, which also needed the app to enable fastest charging.

The unit provides emergency backup power for whatever is required via five AC output ports and three USB-C ports, two rated at 140 W. For medical equipment and network connectivity, the station features UL-1778 certified uninterruptible power supply functionality with less than 10 milliseconds transition time during outages.

Anker Solix has equipped the C1000 Gen 2 with third-generation LFP4 cells and InfiniPower technology, supporting up to 4000 charge cycles. The design is a touch more portable than before, with the C1000 Gen 2 weighing 24.9lb (11.3kg) with dimensions of 384×208×244mm, measuring 14% smaller and 11% lighter than comparable 1024 Wh units, including its own Gen 1 product, according to Anker specifications. A comparison of other larger Anker Solix portable power stations can be found here.

Availability has one or two quirks, though fast-movers have an advantage. The Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station will be available for sign-up starting today, August 19th, at the Anker website. Those who register by September 8 will receive “an exclusive launch price” of $429 if applied on the day of launch, which is September 8, and retail availability extends to Amazon as well for a starting price of $799.

In Europe and wider, availability starts at a similar time, with exact details of pricing not yet available.
