JDEnergy’s CNNC Linxiang Energy Storage Project Sets a New Industry Benchmark
The project was developed in two phases, with a combined configuration of 960 units of eBlock-418 and 32 units of eLink-HV35. At the end of 2024, with the strong technical support of JDEnergy, Phase I (100MW/200MWh) was successfully put into operation. Within less than three months, it set a new revenue record for shared energy storage stations in Southwest China, thanks to precise dispatch strategies and high conversion efficiency.
Building on the success of Phase I, Phase II was launched with accelerated momentum and has now successfully achieved grid connection. With the total capacity reaching 200MW/400MWh, this project represents more than a simple expansion—it marks the deeper implementation of a pioneering technological model, propelling the project into the ranks of the world’s largest grid-side distributed modular energy storage plants.
From equipment dispatch on April 23 to grid connection on May 28, Phase II was delivered in just 35 days—once again setting a new record for the delivery speed of large-scale energy storage plants. Upon commissioning, the project plays a critical role across multiple applications, including peak shaving and valley filling, renewable energy integration, grid frequency and voltage regulation, black start, and emergency backup, reinforcing the reliability of the regional power system.
Proven by practice, leveraging JDEnergy’s distributed smart energy block system solution, the project delivers outstanding performance with high safety, high efficiency, low degradation, rapid deployment and advanced intelligence. As a mega energy hub rooted in the mountains of Yunnan, it stands as a vital pillar for stabilizing the grid and powering regional development.
For the grid, the project serves as both a stabilizer and a regulator, significantly enhancing the ability to absorb intermittent wind and solar generation, reducing curtailment, and ensuring safe, efficient and stable grid operation. For the region, it acts as a green growth engine, cutting carbon emissions and accelerating the transition toward a clean, low-carbon modern energy system.
Our partner, CNNC, the cutting-edge nuclear power technology developer in China, expressed their appreciation to JDEnergy, for our professional, high precision installation and commissioning capabilities, rapid delivery, and ability to overcome the mountain area challenges.
Looking ahead, JDEnergy remains committed to advancing innovation in energy storage and creating more green milestones for a sustainable future.
