EcoFlow launches new Delta Gen4 and River Gen4 series in the U.S.
EcoFlow, known for portable power solutions and an expanding residential focus, has launched two new series of portable power stations.
The Delta Gen4 and River Gen4 are both evolutions of well-known portable and backup power offerings, with EcoFlow seeking to shake up its design language, package into smaller volumes with weight reductions, and reduce power consumption.
Delta Gen4 series
The new models in the Delta Gen 4 series are the Delta 3800 Gen4 and 3000 Gen4, with the model numbers correlating to storage capacity: the 3800 Gen4 offers 3763 Wh (3.7 kWh), and the 3000 Gen4 offers 3072 Wh.
Both new Delta Gen4 models deliver 3.6 kW rated AC output and 7.2 kW surge power for heavy startup inrush currents. The Delta 3000 Gen4 has four charging methods, including AC, generator, solar PV, and alternator car charger, while Delta 3800 has six, adding solar plus alternator charging and solar plus generator.
In terms of weight, the 3800 Gen4 weighs 67.5 lbs or 30.6 kg, while DELTA 3000 Gen4 weighs 57.3 lbs or almost 26 kg.

EcoFlow Delta Gen4 weight and features
EcoFlow claims both are the smallest and lightest portable power stations in their classes by capacity per pound.
This is slightly apples and oranges: based solely on spec sheets, the Anker S5000, with 5,024 Wh at 97 lbs, offers 51.8 Wh per pound, compared with EcoFlow’s best density at 3763 Wh at 67.5 lbs, or 55.7 Wh per pound.
However the ESS News deep dive review of the S5000 did commend the unit for coming with wheels, along with a telescopic handle for portability. The EcoFlow Delta Gen4 series doesn’t offer wheels, just handles, which keeps packaging tighter and overall lighter, but may need a separate trolley to be truly portable.
EcoFlow says both models reduce their own power consumption by up to 70%, drawing just 14W with AC on (no load) and 3W in standby, compared with quoted industry averages of over 20W and 10W.
Adding intelligence to the mix, a mode of operation called Fridge Runtime Boost “reduces unnecessary energy use between refrigerator cooling cycles,” helping “keep food cold for 2–3 days during an outage”.
A new Emergency Power Mode is also available, which forces a power station to reserve capacity for emergency DC power for supplying devices through longer outages, such as phones, even as the battery level reaches 0% on the display.
For added outage preparedness, Storm Guard Mode 2.0 integrates professional weather
data from the National Weather Service in the U.S. to help users prepare their power stations ahead of severe weather and potential outages.
In UPS mode, a 10ms UPS switchover keeps connected electronics running through interruptions.
River Gen4 Series
On the smaller-size front is the new River Gen4 series, featuring the River 260 Gen4 and River 520 Gen4. Again, the model numbers align with capacity, with the 260 Gen4 packing 256Wh of capacity and 300 W power output in a more compact design that’s just over 6 lb, while the River 520 Gen4 packs 512Wh of capacity and 500 W output into a 10 lb design. Both feature removable carrying straps for easy portability.
The shift to reducing standby power is also evident here, with power draw at 6.6 W with AC on and 1 W in standby. Both models support four charging methods (AC, USB-C, solar and alternator), and include multiple AC and USB ports, including 140W bidirectional USB-C.
The River Gen4 series also offers Emergency Power Mode and UPS functionality.
Delta Gen4 and River Gen4 pricing and availability
EcoFlow says the Delta Gen4 is now available on the EcoFlow website with early-bird pricing at $1,299 for DELTA 3000 Gen4 and $1,699 for DELTA 3800 Gen4.
The River Gen4 series will be available for pre-sale beginning November 24.
Availability in other regions is dependent on EcoFlow’s rollout.
EcoFlow in Japan actually launched the Delta and River Gen4 series earlier than the US, where they have been available since October 30th.
In Germany, the River 260 Gen4 is available from November 16th.
For the Delta Gen4, a spokesperson responded to a question from ESS News, saying that EcoFlow is still confirming dates for European availability
EcoFlow Black Friday deals
EcoFlow also announced its Black Friday sales began on November 2 and will run through December 7 in the US.
In Germany, EcoFlow also announced Black Friday deals on the Stream series and Delta 3 series starting November 10 and November 13th respectively.
In Australia, a “sneak peek” early launch of Black Friday deals also began.
