In Conversation: ‘From the next two years on we start to see battery supply in Europe’
At Intersolar Europe 2024, ESS News spoke with Paul McCusker, President EMEA Region at Fluence, about the company’s regionalization strategy and its ambition to bring locally made products to its customers in Europe. He also spoke about EMEA-region specific technology preferences and requirements, such as noise levels and safety. Additionally, McCusker presented his views on battery price movements and key challenges to market growth.

Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) has started accepting proposals to set up 1 GW/2 GWh of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) connected to India’s interstate transmission system (ISTS). Bidding closes on August. 5. Meanwhile, Serentica is seeking technical partners worldwide to set up interstate transmission system-connected battery energy storage systems to supply 800 MWh of battery capacity to Serentica’s round-the-clock green energy projects.

Swiss second-life battery startup Libattion secures EUR 14 million funding

The managing director of A&G Energy Transition Tech Fund, the main backer, said the startup provides an economic alternative to the growing problem of waste from EV batteries while offering an “optimal supply alternative for stationary energy storage.”
