Battery supply chain companies in Poland and the Indo-Pacific markets have been boosted by access to two rounds of grant and loan funding packages.

The European Commission has approved a €1.2 billion ($1.34 billion) renewable energy incentive program in Poland which would see battery producers able to apply for a slice of the grant funding, alongside companies producing solar panels, heat pumps, and other renewable equipment components.

The Polish government has said the loans will be disbursed by the end of 2025, to successful applicants.

On the other side of the world, Australia has committed AUD 50 million ($34 million) to support clean energy supply chains associated with solar PV, hydrogen electrolysers and battery technologies across the “Quad” group of nations which comprises itself, the United States, India, and Japan.

The Australian government announced applicants to the first, AUD 25 million round of grant funding could apply for AUD 100,000 to AUD 2.5 million.

The latest meeting of the Quad nations also saw Japan pledge $180 million of private and public grant and loan backing for renewable energy projects in the four nations.
