Power Mech awarded 2 GWh battery storage project in India
Power Mech Projects Ltd has secured a contract to develop a 250 MW / 1,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) at Goaltore, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The agreement includes a greenshoe option for an additional 250 MW / 1,000 MWh at the Durgapur Project Ltd (DPL) campus. Awarded by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (WBSEDCL), the project features a 100% off-take guarantee.
Germany adds 6.57 GWh of battery storage capacity in 2025, total capacity hits 24 GWh
The expansion of stationary battery storage in Germany reached an estimated 6.57 GWh in 2025, representing an 8% increase compared with the previous year. Total installed battery storage capacity in Germany now stands at around 24 GWh, according to analyses by the Battery Charts data platform of the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) at RWTH Aachen University.

Texas developer secures 10 GWh+ of BESS capacity to supply data centers
Greenflash said its newly secured more than 10 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity will be added to the over 1 GWh of battery storage already ready for near-term deployment, as well as an additional 2 GWh scheduled for delivery in March 2026.
