Wooderson hybrid 3.6 GWh DC-coupled storage project gets go ahead in Australia
The Wooderson project combines 450 MW of solar PV and 3.6 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS) with an eight hour capacity on a DC-coupled setup. It is one of a series of similar large-scale projects undergoing environmental assessment in Australia at the moment.

Enery secures $298 million project financing for CEE, begins construction of 1 GWh BESS in Romania
Earlier this month, Enery announced the start of construction of more than 1 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Romania, which will be co-located with 761 MW of solar PV. More recently, the company secured financing to build out its BESS portfolio in Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia, and Bulgaria.
ContourGlobal acquires 2 GWh of BESS in Greece
Milan, Italy-headquartered ContourGlobal has announced its first venture in Greece, a move which includes the acquisition of 500 MW /2,000 MWh of battery energy storage (BESS) capacity. The capacity comes from two separate transactions and includes what will become one of Greece's first operational merchant batteries.
