100Mw/200MWh BESS goes online in Texas with Energy Vault and Jupiter Power
Near Fort Stockton in Texas, USA, Jupiter Power’s St Gall BESS has gone online, supported by B-Vault AC block and VaultOS Energy Management System from Energy Vault. The 100 MW/200 MWh BESS now provides energy and ancillary services to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) with full-scale commercial operations.

Walo battery to support Senegal’s state grid
Construction has started on the Walo storage and PV project in Senegal. Africa REN has commissioned the large-scale solar and battery storage project to address Senegal’s grid constraints. Africa REN is working in partnership with Senelec, Senegal’s national electricity company to provide much-needed stability to the local grid to reduce power outages.

Plans for BESS assembly plant in Nigeria
RIPLEnergy Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GIB EnergyX Slovakia s.r.o. to co-develop an assembly plant in Nigeria. The new plant should supply Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in support of RIPLE’s Renewable Energy investments to supply commercial and industrial demand for 24/7 electricity.

The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) has just launched the second wave of its Battery Passport pilots, which includes 11 pilot consortia. This second wave will establish the Minimum Viable Product of the GBA Battery Passport with a product-level ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) score.
Australian vehicle-to-grid trial gets $3.2 million boost
Amber Electric has received a $3.2 million (USD 2.3 million) grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) toward their $7.7 million electric vehicle (EV) smart charging and bi-directional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) software solution trial. One thousand customers across Australia will participate in the trial over the next two years with the V2G scope expected to begin in mid-2025.

The Mobility House moves forward with second-life battery systems and launches vehicle-to-grid business
The Mobility House (THM) has announced a number of advances over the last week. The Munich-based company just launched its vehicle-to-grid (V2G) business and had their stationary storage systems in Germany requalified with transmission system operators.
