Neuron Energy unveils 1.5 GWh Indian lithium battery factory

The five-acre site at Chakan, in the city of Pune, cost $2.89 million and will include battery energy storage system (BESS) products in its output.

Electric vehicle battery manufacturer Neuron Energy has opened a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility with an annual production output of 1.5 GWh. The facility, in Chakan, Pune, spans five acres and will produce high-performance lithium-ion batteries for a diverse range of applications, including two- and three-wheeled vehicles, golf carts, drones, battery energy storage systems, and telecoms solutions.

The site has been built with an INR 250 million ($2.89 million) investment and houses a 6,500 sq. ft. “experience center” to showcase Neuron’s advanced technology and a 5,000 sq. ft. R&D center.
