Acme Solar’s 680 MW renewables, energy storage Indian tender win

Indian renewables developer Acme Solar Holdings has secured a PPA from NHPC Ltd. for 680 MW of clean energy generation and storage projects.
Acme secured the 680 MW – which is being treated as one project despite plans to construct its sites in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan – in a 1.4 GW NHPC tender for grid-connected FDRE.
The tender requirements included the provision of energy storage.
“This innovative project combines advanced technology with hybrid renewable energy solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability,” said Acme Solar. “The PPA with NHPC reinforces Acme Solar’s commitment to India’s clean energy goals by integrating solar, wind, and battery [energy] storage, setting a new benchmark for hybrid energy systems and contributing to a greener future.”
The developer added the tender stipulated the renewable energy generation sites must produce at least 40% of their rated annual power generation capacity and must provide at least 90% of the electricity pledged in the bid, during peak grid demand hours.
Acme Solar Holdings said it has a diversified renewable power generation portfolio across solar, wind, hybrid, and FDRE projects. It has an operational capacity of 2.54 GW with a further 4.43 GW under construction.
