Jinko unveils 520 kWh C&I battery storage system

Jinko ESS has unveiled its Sungiga 520 kWh commercial and industrial battery energy storage system (BESS), designed to address the complex power needs of factories, business parks, and commercial facilities.
The new system features a high-capacity 314 Ah cell and a precisely configured 520 kWh direct current system. It offers flexible AC output options: 125 kW for four-hour discharge and 250 kW for two-hour discharge via a three-phase four-wire configuration. Jinko says it is engineered to meet the varied demands of industrial operations, peak-valley electricity arbitrage, grid frequency regulation, and microgrid backup scenarios.
At the core of the Sungiga system is a modular design that enables “plug-and-play” deployment across diverse environments, from urban rooftops to remote deserts and coastal zones. With standardized, integrated module production, Jinko claims the system reduces costs by over 10% and increases installation efficiency by 40%, helping shorten construction timelines.
A marketing executive told ESS News that the launched version is for global markets and will be available for shipment in Q3 2025. Jinko previously offered SunGiga, industrial-scale battery cabinet with a full configuration capacity of 215 or 344 kWh.
The scalable system supports grid-connected and off-grid operations across one to 12 units. This flexibility allows users to expand storage capacity in line with evolving energy needs or facility upgrades, offering a dynamic, long-term solution for energy planning.
The Sungiga 520kWh system can seamlessly switch between grid-connected, off-grid, and microgrid modes. It addresses multiple pain points by enabling peak electricity arbitrage, providing emergency backup, supporting renewable integration, and facilitating autonomous microgrid operation. Its wide adaptability ensures performance stability across manufacturing, commercial operations, and renewable energy consumption scenarios.
On the safety front, Jinko has equipped the system with a multilayer protection framework, earning certifications from GB, IEC, and UL standards. The integrated fire detection and suppression system offers early hazard warnings and rapid response capabilities. An intelligent thermal management mechanism and a multi-tier smart monitoring platform ensure constant surveillance of system performance.
