GoodWe releases 112 kWh storage system for C&I solar

Chinese inverter and energy storage manufacturer GoodWe has released a new 112 kWh storage solution for C&I applications.
The BAT112 uses 100 Ah lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) cells and includes 11 battery packs, each with a capacity of 10.24 kWh.
“The BAT112 provides a flexible and scalable solution, allowing up to four batteries in parallel operation for up to 450 kWh system capacity with an ET40/50kW hybrid inverter,” the company said in a statement. “For even bigger demands, up to 10 hybrid inverters can be paralleled with the SEC3000C smart energy controller for a configuration of up to 500 kW and 4.5 MWh capacity.”
The new storage system has a reported lifespan of 6,000 cycles, with 100% depth of discharge. It can charge and discharge at temperatures ranging from -20 C to 55 C, with a maximum charge power of 101.3 kW and a maximum discharge power of 123.9 kW.
Its maximum charge rate is 0.9 C, and maximum discharge rate is 1.1 C. It has a round-trip efficiency of 96%.
“The layered safety concept begins at the cell level with selection of top-brand battery cells, full electrical protection covering short-circuit, over-current, and lightning as well as insulation monitoring,” the company added. “The battery cabinet can be deployed inside or outside in most environments and has a C4 corrosion resistance rating or optional C5-M rating as well as an IP55 protection rating.”
The system dimensions are 1,055 × 2,000 × 1,055 mm, with a maximum weight of 1,400 kg.
In case of an emergency, the company said, the aerosol fire suppression system on pack level and cabinet level can be triggered through a redundant system, containing smoke and temperature detectors as well as thermistor wire.
