BayWa re to distribute WHES battery systems for C&I sectors across Germany, Italy, and 10 more EU markets

BayWa re partners with WHES for exclusive European distribution of commercial battery energy storage systems.

BayWa re Solar Trade has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with battery storage manufacturer WHES for commercial and industrial (C&I) markets in 12 European countries.

Under the deal, BayWa re will distribute WHES systems in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Greece, Albania, and Kosovo. The products target installers and EPCs and are designed for scalable C&I applications.

The modular all-in-one units integrate WHES’s proprietary power conversion and energy management systems, alongside battery modules supplied by CATL, a strategic shareholder in WHES. The systems are pre-assembled, IP55-rated for outdoor use, and operate with the PANGU OS platform for energy management and flexible scaling.

“With WHES, we’ve gained a partner that meets our high standards for quality, safety, and system integration,” said Alexander Schütt, chief operating officer at BayWa re Solar Trade. “The systems are an excellent addition to our existing portfolio – both technically and strategically.”

WHES has a production capacity in China of 2.5 GWh, and works with partners including CATL, Reorient, Inovance, and JST. BayWa re has brought more than 6 GW of renewable energy projects online and manages over 10.5 GW of assets globally.
