Swiss-based Sinovoltatics announced this week that it will soon offer 360° video and VR-ready virtual tours of its battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facilities.

The technical compliance and quality engineering consultancy announced tours for both BESS and solar photovoltaic module manufacturing facilities via a press release, noting that the tours will offer “direct insight into manufacturing, quality standards, and labour conditions”.

“Manufacturers can open their doors to the global market and showcase quality with real transparency,” said Arthur Claire, Director of Technology, Sinovoltaics. He added via a LinkedIn post, “We are finalizing the very first tour at one of the world’s largest PV manufacturing facilities – Tongwei Solar’s 25 GW facility. Next in line: JA Solar and VSUN SOLAR.”

Virtual tours will become available before the end of 2025. Sinovoltaics says it invites industry professionals to join a waiting list and is open to speaking with interested parties about hosting other solar and storage manufacturing facilities as well.

The website of the Sinovoltaics virtual tour page implies that facilities from JA Solar, TW Solar, and VSUN would be available to tour. Sinovoltaics did not indicate which BESS facility would be available to tour, although JA Solar is the only one of the three offering BESS products at different sizes and scales.

In response to a question, a spokesperson for Sinovoltaics said, “At this stage, we are in active discussions with several Tier-1 BESS manufacturers, both in China and Europe. As we are still finalizing the details, we are unable to disclose specific names just yet. We look forward to sharing more once agreements are in place.”
