Sungrow connects 200 MW/400 MWh PowerTitan 3.0 project

Sungrow has connected a 200 MW/400 MWh BESS using its PowerTitan 3.0 system to the grid in Hefei, China’s Anhui province, with the company saying the project reached grid connection in 17 days.

Sungrow said its “full-chain intelligent delivery” platform, which digitizes management from order placement and manufacturing through logistics, commissioning and operations and maintenance, enabled the fast timeline. The company said factory pre-installation, pre-commissioning, and automated self-configuration and self-checking reduced grid-connection commissioning from more than 10 days to about an hour, with the project connecting successfully on its first attempt. The figures come from the company and have not been independently confirmed by the project owner or grid operator.

The project uses PowerTitan 3.0, a battery system built around 600+ Ah stacked lithium iron phosphate cells. Sungrow said the design reduces internal resistance and thermal-stress risks compared with conventional wound cells.

Sungrow said the project’s thermal management relies on what it calls Bionic Thermal Balance 2.0, which it says makes cooling decisions independently at the container level and holds thermal balancing to within about 1 C, reducing operating energy consumption by 10%. The company did not disclose the underlying control algorithm, sensor architecture or testing protocol behind those figures.

Sungrow ranked first globally in PV inverter shipments for 2025, according to S&P Global, marking the company’s fifth consecutive year in the top position.
