Converting low-cost industrial polymer into zinc-ion battery cathodes
Researchers from the Flinders University of South Australia, in collaboration with Griffith University academics, have used a cheap commercial polymer to develop organic cathodes for aqueous zinc-ion batteries and optimized the battery performance using low-cost additives, as a more sustainable energy storage technology alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

UCB to deploy sodium-ion batteries for remote Amazon community
The project involves 48 V sodium batteries, each capable of storing the equivalent of 38.4 kWh. The stored energy will power a school, health center, and community leisure areas for around 30 families. UCB will produce the batteries in Brazil's Manaus Free Trade Zone.

Torrent Power bags 12 GWh Indian pumped hydro storage project
The energy company will provide 1.5 GW of energy storage capacity to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL) for 40 years. The capacity will come from Torrent’s planned pumped hydro storage plant in Raigad District, Maharashtra.
