Walo battery to support Senegal’s state grid

Origin elevates Eraring battery capacity over 2 GWh at site of Australia’s largest coal generator
Australian utility Origin Energy has approved an AU$450 million investment to construct the second-stage 240 MW / 1,030 MWh four-hour duration grid-forming battery at Eraring Power Station in New South Wales. Stage two will be built with Wärtsilä’s Quantum High Energy storage system and equipped to deliver system strength support services.
