World’s largest compressed air energy storage station now fully operational in China

Pierluigi Vecchia, head of project development at Reden Solar Italy, told pv magazine Italia that the French company has initiated the development of large-scale standalone BESS projects, with commissioning planned for 2028–2029, further strengthening its integrated photovoltaic and energy storage strategy.

Sembcorp, HG Infra secure 900 MWh of tendered Indian battery capacity
Sembcorp has been awarded a 150 MW solar project and 300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in a solar-plus-storage tender held by utility Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVN), and H.G. Infra Engineering has secured a 300 MW/600 MWh BESS from a tender held by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).

RWE enters into tolling agreement 50MW/100MWh of BESS capacity in Germany with Terralayr
The agreement – a "Multi-Asset Capacity Toll" – relates to several battery storage systems with a total capacity of 50 MW, which are located in the control area of 50 Hertz. RWE will pay Terralayr a fixed remuneration for five years from 2026 for the marketing of the storage systems.
