World’s largest compressed air energy storage station now fully operational in China

Pierluigi Vecchia, head of project development at Reden Solar Italy, told pv magazine Italia that the French company has initiated the development of large-scale standalone BESS projects, with commissioning planned for 2028–2029, further strengthening its integrated photovoltaic and energy storage strategy.

How Germany’s Green Flexibility will spend its $455m battery fund
Christoph Ostermann, founder and CEO of Bavarian business Green Flexibility, tells pv magazine how the young company will spend the €400 million ($455 million) raised by selling shares to Swiss investor Partners Group. With the cash to be invested into battery energy storage systems (BESS), former Sonnen co-founder Ostermann explains acquisitions will be made alongside in-house development but insists any acquired BESS must have a grid connection commitment.

India’s NTPC Green Energy wins 320 MWh of battery projects
The renewables division of India's National Thermal Power Company (NTPC), and Opera Energy, were winners in a tender held by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) for standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the state of Kerala.
