Vision Mechatronics launches India’s first high-voltage second-life battery
Vision Mechatronics has partnered with JSW MG Motors India to repurpose retired MG ZS EV batteries for industrial use. The initial deployment of the battery is in a Pune-based facility. It uses six modules from MG ZS EV batteries and is paired with an industrial UPS to deliver 36 kW of power.

In Magdeburg, Germany, the Battery Lifecycle Company (BLC) has opened a plant for battery recycling, repair and testing for second-life stationary storage applications. The company claims the newly inaugurated plant is the world’s first fully automatic battery deep discharge facility in the world.
Porsche reveals second-life BESS at its Leipzig plant
Porsche has revealed a battery energy storage system (BESS) at its Leipzig powered by second-life Porsche Taycan batteries. The project is based on a feasibility study in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau in Saxony, Germany.

Swiss second-life battery startup Libattion secures EUR 14 million funding
Libattion, which turns discarded European electric vehicle (EV) batteries into energy storage systems, is planning a big push for growth. The managing director of A&G Energy Transition Tech Fund, the main backer, said the startup provides an economic alternative to the growing problem of waste from EV batteries while offering an “optimal supply alternative for stationary energy storage.”
