RWE starts installing 236 MW/470 MWh battery storage project in Germany
RWE has begun buidling a 236 MW/470 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at a mine in western Germany. The project is scheduled to enter service in 2027 and will provide ancillary services including frequency regulation, with future capability to deliver synthetic inertia.

Key German energy associations see pros and cons in planned grid fee reforms for batteries
