The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy said on January 13 that the Storage Systems in Businesses program is now open for applications.

With a budget of EUR 153.7 million, the program is open to businesses, regardless of their size and sector of economic activity. It subsidizes the installation of battery storage systems coupled with both planned and existing photovoltaic systems. In both cases,Ā only the storage system is subsidized.

The size of the subsidy depends on the company submitting the application – the number of its employees and annual turnover. It is set at 30% of the system cost for large companies, 40% for medium-sized companies, and 50% for small companies. It will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A single subsidy will cover the supply and installation of the energy storage system and accompanying equipment, such as cables and smart meters, as well as the energy management system. It will also cover the cost of the system dimensioning, project management consulting, and connection with the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) and the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO).

A total of EUR 100 million in grants will be allocated for micro and small enterprises with the remaining share reserved for medium and large enterprises. All beneficiaries of the program should be existing businesses operating in the territory of Greece and established by June 30, 2024.

Those interested in the Storage Systems in Businesses program have the opportunity to submit their applications only electronically, until 28.02.2025, through the official website of the program ( https://exoikonomo-epixeiro-fotovoltaika.gov.gr ).

For more information,Ā please call: 213 1513753 and 213 1513745 (weekdays, 9:00 a.m. ā€“ 5:00 p.m.) as well as email:Ā exoikonomo.epixeiro.pv@prv.ypeka.gr, the Ministry said on Monday.

The program is implemented within the framework of RePowerEU, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan ā€œGreece 2.0ā€ funded by the European Unionā€“NextGeneration EU.
