Construction services business HG Infra Engineering has incorporated wholly owned subsidiary HG Gujarat BESS as a stationary energy storage-dedicated division after its recent BESS auction win.

HG Infra secured the right to build 250 MW/500 MWh of viability gap funding-backed BESS project capacity in the state of Gujarat via an auction held by state electric utility Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. Viability gap funding is provided by India’s central government to help infrastructure projects be economically viable.

Jaipur-based HG Infra has incorporated the HG Gujarat BESS unit as its battery energy storage operation.

“HG Gujarat BESS Private Limited is incorporated in India as a wholly owned subsidiary company, as a special purpose vehicle, in the state of Rajasthan and is yet to commence its business operations,” stated HG Infra.
