Risen Energy and Brazil’s MTR Solar Group sign a 1GW agreement for energy storage solutions

Risen Energy and MTR Solar Group have signed an agreement to jointly develop 1 GW of battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions, building on their collaboration in the Latin American market.
Risen Energy made a brief announcement on several of its company’s LinkedIn pages, following earlier reports posted to Tencent QQ in China. Reports also suggest the deployment may occur over the next two years, though this timeline has not been officially confirmed.
ESS News has contacted Risen Energy and MRT Solar Group for more information on the plans for Brazil and Latin America.
The deal expands the partnership between the two companies, following their previous 1 GW agreement for heterojunction solar modules signed in June 2023. MTR Solar Group has an established presence in Brazil and neighboring markets, where it distributes photovoltaic and energy storage solutions.
Risen Energy brings 19 years of battery technology experience to the partnership, offering a comprehensive product portfolio that includes batteries, modules, battery packs, power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), and system integration capabilities.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement. The deal signals continued momentum in the Latin American energy storage market, though the announcement did not detail specific project locations and applications.
