Enphase launches new fourth-gen energy system with new 7.08-kW battery IQ Battery 10C, and US domestic manufacturing

The new battery offers 10 kWh of usable energy in a big boost to Enphase’s battery storage options, and is made with U.S. components from a contract manufacturer.

Enphase Energy has announced the launch of its fourth-generation Enphase Energy System, with an all-new, bigger battery called the IQ Battery 10C, made sufficiently in the USA to qualify for tax incentives or credits for domestic buyers.

The battery provides 10 kWh of usable energy and delivers 7.08 kW of continuous power. According to the company, it has a much smaller footprint than the previous model, thanks to approximately 34% greater energy density, thereby using less wall space compared to the previous generation.

The IQ Battery 10C uses lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for safety and longevity. It also includes built-in neutral-forming microinverters that enable backup functionality and reduce internal hardware. Enphase says this design simplifies installation and aims to increase the number of single-day deployments.

The 10C has a DC round-trip efficiency of 96% and an AC round-trip efficiency of 90%. Enphase notes it has a total weight of 144 kg (317 lbs) and a lifting weight of 57 kg (126 lbs).

The 10C represents an increase in power output over the previous generation IQ Battery 5P, which delivered 3.84 kW of continuous power from a 5 kWh unit. Enphase previously had advertised installing multiple batteries to reach closer to full home backup for long periods.

Enphase expects to begin shipping the IQ Battery 10C with domestic content from US contract manufacturing facilities in the third quarter of 2025. These products, identified by a “DOM” suffix, may help solar and storage projects qualify for the current Domestic Content Bonus Credit, which incentivizes projects using US-manufactured components.

Other components of the new system include the IQ Meter Collar and the IQ Combiner 6C, which consolidate equipment and simplify whole-home backup. The IQ Meter Collar is a microgrid interconnection device (MID) that mounts behind the utility meter, eliminating the need to relocate circuits to a sub-panel. The IQ Combiner 6C consolidates interconnection equipment and includes integrated breaker spaces for solar, battery, EV charging, and load control.

The fourth-generation system, including the IQ Battery 10C, is backed by a 15-year limited warranty or 6,000 cycles.

“With the launch of our fourth-generation Enphase Energy System, we’re delivering smarter, more efficient, and more powerful solutions that simplify installation, enhance reliability, and provide greater value to homeowners,” said Ken Fong, senior vice president and general manager of the Americas and APAC at Enphase Energy.

Enphase gathered independent solar installers to make comments as well, in a press release.

Raul Vergara, owner of Cutler Bay Solar Solutions, based in Florida, commented on the new system, saying, “The fourth-generation Enphase Energy System has a streamlined design that can help make installations faster and systems more cost-effective for homeowners.”
