Tesla Powerwall lands in Ireland as Segen opens Dublin depot
Tesla Powerwall has landed in Ireland for the first time, according to Segen, as the UK distributor cuts the ribbon on a new depot in Dublin.
Segen is launching its business in Ireland and Northern Ireland with an exclusive distribution deal for the Tesla Powerwall home energy storage system. The distributor will also stock energy storage products from Anker Solix, Fox ESS, Dyness, Sunsynk, and Solis at the new site, as well as a range of solar panels and related products. Segen claims its new warehouse will offer the largest range of solar and energy storage products in Ireland.
In a press release, Segen UK & Ireland managing director Spencer Conday said the company’s goal was to establish itself as a leading distributor in Ireland and praised incentives for solar and storage on offer from the Irish government. Support available to Irish consumers include the Solar PV Scheme, offering grants of up to €1,800 ($2,100) for qualifying residential installations.
“The solar and storage market in the Republic of Ireland is experiencing rapid growth, driven by a forward-thinking government committed to advancing the clean energy transition through attractive subsidies,” he said.
The exclusive distribution deal with Tesla also comes at a “pivotal time” for the Irish market, according to Conday, who said demand for energy storage is “continuing to grow rapidly,” particularly in rural areas.
Segen has plans to reach out to Irish installers and contractors with a roadshow event on October 23. The distributor is also launching its online portal for installers in Ireland.
